Line breaks in Acceptance Criteria

Barrett Cook 13 years ago updated by Matthew O'Riordan (Founder) 13 years ago 2
Acceptance criteria is hard to write given the small vertical real estate. It would be nice to allow line breaks to write more logical tests. We try to emulate Acceptance Criteria as cucumber tests:

Given ...
When ...
Then ...

No line breaks means it doesn't read off very easily.
Answer
Hi Barrett

Thanks for pointing out that issue with line breaks disappearing from acceptance criteria.

I believe we have fixed the issue now.  Could you please confirm the line breaks are retained across edits now?  Remember to use Ctrl-Break to create line breaks in comment or acceptance criteria fields.

story assigned for 2 sprints

Roger Stich 13 years ago updated by Matthew O'Riordan (Founder) 12 years ago 1
Hi,

i managed to assign multiple stories to 2 sprints.

What i did was do click the "move all incomplete stories.." button and moved all stories from sprint 13 in my backlog to sprint 14.
Then i added other stories to sprint 13.

All looked fine so far, then i saw the calculation of the sprint where very high numbers was shown. I did an refresh of the page and then i saw all of the "old" stories still in that sprint plus the new ones.
In sprint 14 there are the same stories planned, so i have multiple stories assigned to 2 sprints.

In Backlog view they are shown as assigned to sprint 13.

i let that mess until tomorrow that u can take a look at this but then i have to clean up the backlog.

Backlog ID is 4296.
Answer
Hi Roger

This issue has now been fixed, it is now impossible to assign a story to more than one sprint enforced at both an application and database level. Please do tell us if you see any odd problems again, and thanks for notifying us.

filter not working

Roger Stich 13 years ago updated by Matthew O'Riordan (Founder) 13 years ago 5
Hi folks,

if u are in Backlog an filter for accepted storys, and then open/collapse an Theme, the filter doesnt work anymore as i can see all storys in that theme.

Would it be possible to add somekind of default filter?
As a PO i never want to see accepted Stories until i search for them.
As my Backlog grows its getting messed up together with not working filters....

Answer
Hi Roger

On your first point about the open/collapse not remembering the stories that are filtered, we have fixed that bug now.  Our first stab at writing the filtering engine for the view was a bit rudimentary, so we've completely rewritten it now and I believe is way more robust.  Shout if you run into any problems.

We have also now implemented the feature so that your personal preferences in regards to your filter and collapsed themes for each backlog are remembered.  Please can you tell me what you think?  We really like it, thanks again for the suggestion.

Bug: New tasks not visible to others when multiple people view/edit simultaneously

Bryan P 10 years ago updated by Matthew O'Riordan (Founder) 10 years ago 3
During our sprint planning session we often have multiple people creating new user stories simultaneously and then attempt to add them to the next sprint. However, new stories made by on user are not visible to others unless they log-out and back in. Refreshing the page is not enough.

Such updates to all should be visible to all right away, at least after a page refresh

Incorrect days total displayed on backlog page

Ben Casey 12 years ago updated by Matthew O'Riordan (Founder) 12 years ago 0
The final item on this list (taken from the main Backlog page) isn't counting towards the days or cost totals. It's the same status as all the other jobs (assigned to same sprint, etc) - is there a reason it wouldn't count?

Duplicate a accepted story

Torsten 12 years ago updated by Matthew O'Riordan (Founder) 12 years ago 1
As a Product Ower
I want to be able to duplicate accepted stories
so that I can easily create a new story when I have accepted a story but later on realize, that it's not completely done.
Answer
Hi

You can duplicate stories now.  If you are in Backlog view, and you click on the tool icon, you have a duplicate story link.

Thanks,
Matt

automagically recognise http links in acceptance criteria or comments and render them as <a target="_blank" ... to allow linking to expanded docs or external images

alan richardson 13 years ago updated by Matthew O'Riordan (Founder) 13 years ago 0
If I enter a url in acc criteria or comment then recognise this and when shown as non-edit, make it a clickable link
Answer
Hi Alan

This has now been implemented.  All links will be automatically converted to links, and if they are long links truncated in the view.  However, as soon as you edit them, the full URL is inserted back into the editable text field.  On roll over, you now have an option visit that link.

Would you mind trying it out to see if it works as expected?

Thanks,
Matt

input text fields are not aligned with their lables/stories

Michael Terkowski 13 years ago updated by Matthew O'Riordan (Founder) 13 years ago 4
some times when I edit stories one after the other, the input text boxes start getting mis-aligned with the labels , even as worse as appearing 2-3 lines down.

I would like to know what is safe to do when another user is editing the backlog

Rob Scott 10 years ago 0
When I get the message "1 other person is simultaneously editing this backlog", I am unclear as to what I should do or not do.

Is it safe to add new stories?
Is it safe to reorder stories?
Should I refrain from editing stories?
Should I refresh the page periodically to see what has changed?

A little bit more direction would be very helpful.
