Rearrange a user story to a specific position on the backlog

Bianca Griffioen 11 years ago updated by Matthew O'Riordan (Founder) 11 years ago 1

I'd like to be able to rearrange a user story by telling it (after or before) what other user story it should be. When I start up a new Product Backlog user stories are not immediately prioritised. When I want to rearrange according to the right priorities, dragging&dropping takes a lot of time.

Hi Bianca

Are you saying you would for example like to be able to press a button on a particular story to add a story above or below that story?  I am not sure I understand the problem clearly.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

When I make a new userstory, it appears at the bottom off the PBL (within the specific theme I am adding a user story in). It takes a lot of time to drag and drop it in the way you can do it right now (especially because the "scrolling" of the US through the already existing ones is very slow). I would like to have an option in the drop down menu for the US which says: "Move this story to a specific place". And then I would like to type the unique number of the us after (or before, whatever is more easy to do)  which it should be placed. As I am typing this solution I realise that I am trying to solve two problems:

1. When I duplicate a story it is usually because I want to split the original story. But the duplicate appears on the bottom of the PBL. I would like to have the duplicate after the original so I don't have to drag&drop it.

2. I would like to be able to drag&drop faster than I can right now. Of course any other way then described above is fine too :-).

I hope this makes my question a bit more clear!

Thanks,

Bianca
