Allow comments/replies on user stories

It would be nice if the comments on user stories were threads of discussion. This would allow teams that work at distance to improve collaboration over sprint itens, specially those where someone is stuck. It also would help to keep a history of the decisions made to solve the problems encountered.

Thanks for the suggestion.

To be honest, when we designed the product we intentionally did not intend for the product to be a collaboration tool.  We felt that when implementing agile, one to one communications and people over systems is where the focus should lie.  easyBacklog is meant for scrum masters and product owners, not for the agile team themselves.  Thus we provide all the tools a scrum master / product owner would need, setting up backlogs, assign stories to sprints (after or during the planning meeting), reporting on project progress as opposed to sprint progress which should really be done on a board shared with the team.

We'll certainly consider this for future versions should it become apparent that lots of people need this functionality, but for now unfortunately, we are going to have to leave this request under review.

Thanks again for the feedback.

I thought it was really intentional as easybacklog doesn't have an online task board. However, my main challenge right now is: How can I use scrum while working with a team scattered around the world? Is that even possible?

In the last year I found that people get motivated if they have a easy way to know that their partners are also working hard on the project. It is impossible for us to have a daily scrum meeting, and this is the best way we can get to know about what is happening on other parts of the project. This request is somehow connected to the "Activities tab", but I preferred to suggest them as separate topics.
Ok, I'll discuss it with a few other companies who are using easyBacklog to see if we can come to a consensus of some sort.
Honestly by the time something gets added to the backlog I feel like it should be because a decision was made. I think a backlog is the tool to capture decisions that have been made, not making the decisions.

Having to search through the discussion to see what the requirements are supposed would seem messy to me. If a tool was provided for discussion of stories I'd want it to be something outside of the backlog itself.

Hi Shaunty

We have not progressed much with this idea yet, but if we do, comments will be in a different view anyway.  Our thinking is that we might introduce a scrum board for teams who simply cannot use physical boards for whatever reason.  If they do, then they will be able to add comments to stories in that view, and even set up tasks for those stories.  However, the tasks & comments won't pollute the backlog, albeit possibly for a small icon that allows you to jump to the scrum board to view the comments/tasks for that story.

Again, nothing decided as yet, as this is still in brainstorming phase and not at the top of our backlog yet.
