Add notes/comments for a theme

Michael Terkowski 13 ár síðan updated by Matthew O'Riordan (Founder) 13 ár síðan 2
As a product owner, I would like to add notes/comments to a theme, so that I could better communicate specific issues or background information that relates to a theme.

As a user, I want to be able to view any additional information that a theme may have, so that I could understand better the background and motivation for the theme.

Sometimes, a group of stories has one common information that we want to capture, or notes about its priorities or motivation.

Idea: The notes/comments field doesn't have to be visibile. It can easily be an icon that opens a pop up. It is not an information that is required for grooming the backlog, but probably only visible on request when the user needs it.

We can understand the value of this, but we are actually trying to simplify the interface at present, and we are concerned that adding more icons will in fact complicate things.  Let us have a think about how, and if, we can accomodate this feature.  We'll update this ticket when this feature along with the other GUI improvements are in the current sprint.

A theme, for me, is a bigger container where stories fit into. This also means that a theme has a certain purpose, a certain context, where these user stories then fit in.

I would like to document this. This extra text could probably be displayed underneath the current name of the theme (to be honest, I try to put the context in there now, which his not pretty and most of the time the text is topped off)

Reference material: this is a second thing that I miss. I would like to put a link to where all the reference material for this theme is put. (e.g. wireframes, wiki, whatever)
Just one link.
This could be part of the theme description, so then no other extra field would be necessary.

So instead of the name field for the theme, make it two fields: a name field and a description field. They are just put under each other. Most of the time there is plenty of text space there. And you could always consider a '-' one can click on to hide most of the description text.

I really love the minimalist approach, but I also want to be able to work with easybacklog as my command center. From where I have a total overview of what I find important to work on and from where I can easily reach all info I need.

But maybe I just misinterpreted the themes concept?
Ok, that makes sense.  Let us have a think about this and come back to you when we have time to put this into our backlog.  Thanks for the feedback.
